NOCO GBX55 LITHIUM JUMP STARTER
ABOUT
The NOCO GBX55 is part of the Boost X line of lithium jump starters from The NOCO Company. With even more power per jump start than it’s sister product line, Boost X is an entirely new series to deliver for the most demanding jump starting needs.
Boost X is the new flagship line of jump starting products. As part of the team that worked on Boost X, I designed the NOCO GBX55 from the ground up with the intent of making it one of the most ergonomic jump starters that NOCO offers.

FINAL PRODUCT
Each feature is neatly integrated into the compact jump starter body. The charging caps snuggly sit flush with the sides as a much less obtrusive component than typical port covers, while the strain reliefs present the cables directly forward and are guided around the recessed cable area. The GBX55 and all Boost X lithium jump starters are perfect for anyone looking for refined and rugged accessories to their car, truck, or recreational vehicle.
DESIGN DETAILS
The GBX55 is the first jump starter from NOCO to have the cable strain reliefs pointed in the same direction as the flashlight (pictured above) to allow the user to see the battery terminals they are connecting the heavy duty clamps. As one of the driving design choices on this project my Creative Director stated, “…this is the way we’ve meant all of our previous jump starters to be.”
PACKAGING
Based off of the design of the previous generation of packaging, the GBX boxes highlight the latest advancements in the product lineup. Bold graphics and Spot UV were chosen to make the packaging stand out on the shelf.
IMPACT
The GBX55 has been received very well by buyers on Amazon with many giving personal stories about the jump starter bringing an extremely dead battery immediately back to life, and others appreciating how robust and easily portable the device is. (Screenshots taken 2/23/22)
